Over the past couple of years, Evesham Glass and Glazing have been working in phases on a home improvement project for Mr and Mrs Turner.

Phase One

Timber framed french doors replaced with Smart Systems aluminium framed french doors with laminated glass.

Phase Two

Timber glazed double doors replaced with Smart Systems aluminium bi-folding doors with laminated glass.

Phase Three

Installation of a bespoke slim line roof lantern. To compliment the Cotswold stone the coping stones were wrapped in code 5 lead giving it a premium look and long lasting protection to the weather. Replacement of dormer style windows from timber to Smart Systems aluminium frames laminated glass.

Phase Four

Timber door and windows replaced with Smart Systems architectural aluminium framed door with laminated glass.

All aluminium frames are in Pebble Grey which contrasts with the Cotswold Stone brickwork giving the traditional building a modern twist.

Benefits of Aluminium Door and Window Frames

Aluminium door and window frames are lightweight and high strength. Combined with its long life and extremely low maintenance requirements, aluminium has become the perfect choice for home owners when selecting new or replacement windows and doors.

All our systems are designed with performance, looks and efficiency in mind, with each frame incorporating a ‘thermal-break’. This effectively insulates our doors and windows against heat loss, raising a home’s internal temperature and helping to reduce the risk of condensation.

Maintenance for aluminium is simple and straightforward, with a routine ‘wipe-clean’ all that is required to keep the products looking their best. With no requirement for re-painting or re-varnishing, aluminium windows and doors will never fade, deteriorate or rust, even in harsh environments, such as coastal locations.

Benefits of Laminated Glass

Laminated glass has the same strength as ordinary glass but it consists of two pieces of glass containing a sandwich of plastic interlayer. If the glass does get broken this interlayer holds the whole piece in place so there is no hole left in the window for an intruder to get in through for example or large free shards that can cut. It’s the same glass you find in car windscreens and shop fronts.
